my final update to livejournal
Dec. 30th, 2016 01:48 pmWell, it wasn't enough for LJ's Russian corporate masters to move the servers to Russia. They disabled HTTPS, too. I'm done here. I might bother moving to dreamwidth.

For those of you who loathe LoudTwitter updates as much as i do, go to your journal customization page and enter these lines in the 'Custom stylesheet' box:
.loudtwitter {Thanks to James Coupe for the link.

en_ki brought to my attention
elsejournal, an effort to decentralize journals. Since i have a genetic defect that precludes any possibility of generating useful code, i'll probably just bring my typical idea-based energy, throw out some documents, and in general irritate people when i point out, "UR DOIN IT RONG." Because that worked so well back when my tilted windmill was Usenet II.
I know some of you care. And of those, some might actually have the time to put something up.

I come home from Las Vegas to find new useless fakey-fake "adult content" flagging. After all the nonsense that went down this year (primarily, the pornish_pixies pogrom and the Snap Previews), this was the last straw. My paid account was conveniently coming up for renewal on Dec 5... NOT ANYMORE! SUCK IT SIX APART! HAHAHAHAHAHA

If you're using Firefox, you can block Snap previews, like what LiveJournal just added, as long as you have Adblock installed and block "http://shots.snap.com/*". Disabling graphic previews at your journal's Viewing Options page doesn't help for the rest of the site, and the Options menu within each Snap preview that allows you to disable the stupid things doesn't work at all.
Looks like i might just stop paying for this journal after all.

January 27, 2005 is LiveJournal Rabbit-Hole Day "Let's have a day where nobody's life makes sense anymore, where any random LJ you click on will bring you some strange new tale. Let's all fall down the Rabbit Hole for 24 hours and see what's there. It will be beautiful." |
Share and Enjoy. That's an order.
