First, Congress issues a resolution condemning the Armenian genocide by the Ottoman Empire, which passes in committee, thereby pissing off our allies the Turks. President Bush opposes this resolution coming to a full vote, but then he goes and gives the Dalai Lama a medal, thereby pissing off our allies the Chinese. Who will we piss off next, and why?

Date: 2007-10-22 07:28 pm (UTC)We have no such arrangements with the PRC, and they haven't been entirely helpful in our dealings with the PRNK, Burma, and Sudan. As much I have no use for him and consider this to be only a very small step in the right direction, kudos to GWB for tweaking the PRC's collective noses. A better step, mind you, would be revoking MFN for the PRC until they pull support from Sudan, but hey, little steps, I guess.
