Plastic explosives placed inside the luggage of a French air passenger as part of a botched police training exercise were still missing last night.

A bag containing 150g of explosives was deliberately placed in the luggage of an unknown traveller at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, but sniffer dogs undergoing training failed to spot it.

My experience at de Gaulle has been far different from yours. One incident happened when I arrived at CDG. I had just gone through Customs and the security dogs started humping my bag - I had chocolate in my bags to give to my friends as gifts. They pulled me aside and took me in a room and proceeded to empty the entire contents of my bag and inspect everything.

Another time, flying out of CDG, I checked in at Air France and got my boarding pass, and then told them I wanted to have my rucksack wrapped with plastic. The security guard watched me stand in line for 20 minutes, get my boarding pass, go get my bag wrapped (and pay 3 Euro) and then walk back over to Air France so I could check it in. That's when he decided he wanted to inspect my bag. He cut through the plastic and opened everything, and even had the nerve to flirt with me while he touched my underwear.

Oh, ick. And he was probably wondering how on earth were you able to resist his charm and savoir faire. Maybe you should've slipped a bit of that chocolate into his back pocket, so those security dogs could have their way with him later.
