Dear Ronny,
As a result of Adobe Systems Incorporated's acquisition of Macromedia, Inc., we regret to inform you that your employment will terminate because we simply don't have a clue as to how to integrate a company your size; therefore, we would rather move on with as few employees as possible to give each of them a vibrant new opportunity to work 70 hours a week, and thus give those of you we're laying off the chance to laugh at our ingenuousness. I mean, ingenuity.
This is an actual quote:
There will be no bumping rights in connection with this reduction in force.
What the hell are "bumping rights"?

Date: 2005-12-05 10:14 pm (UTC)In the meantime: why you're not stone-cold-out drunk yet? WTF?
Oh, and do take the time you've got all of a sudden, and come visit lovely Austria... I'll pay some of the beer.

Date: 2005-12-05 10:17 pm (UTC)I'm not drunk today mostly because i'm going through my stuff, and i was drunk on Friday and i'm not too keen on repeating the experience. I might just go home and have wine there.
Thanks for the invitation. Were i able to go to Europe this year, i'd go to Germany for the Cup, but i'd try to see if i could make a stop in Wien as well. As it is, though, we have plans to go to Ecuador in September, and that will consume our travel budget.

Date: 2005-12-05 10:46 pm (UTC)But you have my official "go" for the Soccer Cup - see, I'm only against sports-watching when the people watching don't engage in the sport themselves. You do, so that's ok.
(I don't watch any sports, accordingly - though I might, as soon as they put a worldcup in chainsmoking and/or beer-drinking up on the teevee).
Oh, and a shame that you rather visit your home-country then the Home-Country of Real Beer! (insert smileys and stuff as appropriate)
