This is a song from my adolescence... it's a wonderful post-breakup "go to hell" song. It's been buzzing around my head for a few weeks, and file-pirating came to my aid.
| I hope that the leaves don't touch your body when they fall so that you cannot turn them into crystal I hope that the rain stops being a miracle that falls down your body I hope that the moon can rise without you I hope the earth doesn't kiss your steps I hope that you run out of the constant look, the precise word, the perfect smile. I hope that something happens that suddenly erases you, A blinding light, a shot of snow. I hope that, at least, death takes me, so i don't see you as much, so i don't see you ever In all the seconds, in all the visions. I hope that i cannot touch you, even in songs.* I hope that the aurora does not let out screams that fall on my back I hope that your name is forgotten by that voice I hope the walls don't hold on to your tired road noise I hope that desire goes behind you, to your old government of the deceased and flowers |
*: In Spanish, the verb for "to play (an instrument)" is the same as "to touch" (tocar), thus the untranslatable pun.
