We'll be going to my mother-in-law's some time soon to determine whether the pinot noir we have needs one last racking or if it should just be bottled.

I wonder why the certificate differentiates between the online and real-world versions of the program. Is the real-world version any more hands-on?

I don't know if there is a certificate program for Winemaking that can be done in person. The certificate program is certainly nowhere near as rigorous as a degree on œnology. I also felt that not having an actual lab in which to conduct experiments and collect data hampered me to some degree.

Ben and Jerry got their ice cream-maker credentials by mail through a similar specialty course offered by Penn State.

I'd link to the program but the website's not responding. psuvax must be down.

There should totally be a class of online learners parallel to visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners.

Congratulations!

Not really. Those pre-cut frames are pretty easy to work.

Participation... ? Next time... ?

Well, this is awkward. All the bestest students receive certificates of participation. I thought you knew.

I just assumed you'd be retaking the course to shore up your participatory skills, but I see that was a foolish assumption, so never mind that. Anyway, I'm sure you did a fine job and should be very proud, so don't worry about what kind of certificate you got.

... Also, thanks for making me explain a throwaway sub-joke that I would have preferred to forget as soon as possible. Bastard.

I'm working then, so I regrettably won't be there. Thinking of making up for that in November though. He's taking his dad out for a trip while his dad is still physically able to. He likes wine, and would probably like to introduce his dad to some of the nicer wines and wineries. Mind if I point him at your mail and/or here?
