short shameful confession
Jan. 28th, 2008 10:51 pmI set up Semagic (my LJ client) to use a fixed-width font and expanded its size to 80 columns and 24 lines.

Date: 2008-01-29 07:30 am (UTC)Oh wait, no I don't. My LJ client is a scrap of Ruby that I wrote IN MY OWN WRITE (as John Lennon put it), and it works by firing up vim in the xterm (80 columns wide, of course, but as tall as the screen so no hair shirt there) that I invoke it from, on a text file which looks close enough to an RFC822-formatted message that vim's syntax highlighting thinks that that's exactly what it is, and applies the pretty colors to match.
I reply to LJ posts in the usual fashion though.

Date: 2008-01-30 09:58 am (UTC)Actually, I was pleasantly surprised to find it give me back my last post minus the last few words when opera crashed last time, despite it threatening for a *very* long time not to give it back. Got to figure out what's gone wrong with the new router and/or new version of opera.
