I don't see what the big deal is. Obama's said he's against gay marriage every time he's been asked; a gay-marriage issue-voter couldn't vote for either big party this past election, so they should've started on the sour grapes about 4 months ago.
The article you link to points to what must be more troubling for Obama supporters, though I'm no fan of a supporter of food-based ethanol.
Yeah, that's one of the points i made in my comment on Brust's entry. Obama and Biden both said during their campaign that they did not support gay marriage and never wavered. Everything else is weasel words.
But I suspect that a lot of GLBT community just didn't notice or pay attention to it because they were too busy pissing themselves in excitement about getting rid of Bush.
The whole thing is a non-issue. It's a completely symbolic act, it has ZERO effect on anyone's rights.
But we all know there's a huge number of very stupid people out there on all sides of politics.
