i grew a beard

I started growing a beard right after Hmas.  After 3 months, i feel i've given it a good time to fill in, but it's just a bit too sparse, so it'll be shaven down sometime soon back to a circle beard.

Like you say, it is a bit sparse. It's probably better than I could do though. :) Didn't you find it a bit itchy?

(Then again, that's not actually a great photo of you either, so I might just be seeing it at the wrong angle...)

Out of interest, why start growing the beard? I've got a friend who's got a beard because he can't be bothered shaving...

It wasn't itchy at all; i suspect it's because my facial hair is finer than most.

Oddly, although i agree it's not a great photo (just a phonecam shot), i'm pleased because a distinct me-ness comes through.

Joking aside, back in the '80s my father spent about a year avec beard. His employer sent him to Europe a few times a year, and to California every two or three years. With that beard, he was stopped every time by UK customs.

That's why the blurry photo from which this icon comes is the only one I've got. I've kept the Van Dyke longer than I ever expected, though, at least 6 years, and keep thinking I might get rid of it but changing my mind. Meanwhile, I thought I would be way beyond tired of shaving my head by now, but I'm not. Probably by summer, though.
