Yep, got fired. I saw it coming, too, after something broke on my way in to work. I said to myself, "I bet he's going to turn this into the excuse he wants to fire me." Sure enough, he thought that i should have handheld the project manager (who called me) to troubleshoot the issue, and to guide him on the phone to power-cycle the machine. I thought, "Why the hell would i assume the project manager has keys to the server room?" He grumbled about the train delaying my arrival to work and i pointed out that, had i been driving, i would still have been far from work. He responded by pantomiming himself troubleshooting the problem on the phone while driving. I tried not to stare too much.
Anyway, i already have résumés out at Apple and Danger. I think i'll spend next week having lunch with
erikred and cleaning the garage so we can close our storage locker. Anyone else want to spend some time with me? Just drop me a line. After all, i have no pressing engagements! LOLOLOLOL*BANG*

Well, be sure to let us all know if anything, y'know, bad happens to you, 'kay?
The last time I got actually honest-to-God fired (rather than simply being made redundant, or being an unfortunate victim of a RIF), the (shiny! fresh new hire) PHB who did the deed wound up being honest-to-God fired herself less than six months afterwards--those folks in the team that she didn't manage to fire, found employment at other companies. The corporate masters noticed this and realized that a 100% turnover of an entire department within the space of four months means that the boss they hired actually doesn't know squat about how to deal with this whole "team" thing.
I love being able to say "NEENER NEENER NEENER! I TOLD YOU SO!"
