I've really come to love Duke Ellington's music, especially his later work.  His piano work is so unusual, in the way he uses it as a percussive instrument ("Chinoiserie" and "Amad" are what stick in my mind).  The first songs of his i encountered were "Caravan" and "Money Jungle", off the sessions he played with Max Roach and Charles Mingus (collected on the album Money Jungle).

Anyway, the point of all this is that the first time i heard them was on Young-Hae Chang's immortal SAMSUNG MEANS T0 C0ME, a Flash-based erotic ode (that might trigger epilepsy) to a brand that permeates Korea.

The piano IS a percussion instrument. Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata was written to remind the world of this.

Thank you, thank you, someone else who remembers the awesomeness of Young-Hae Chang's Flash animations. [livejournal.com profile] also_huey was mocking me the other day because the welcome screen on my cellphone is "SAMSUNG MEANS TO C0ME".
