Credo quia absurdum.

I hesitate to think of the real estate prices in Heaven. Thanks to John Paul and Benedict, the saints' neighborhood must be a little overcrowded about now.

What makes you think Californians are going to heaven?

These days I'm only Episcopalian when I find it convenient (when the Southern Baptists are at the front door, for instance, or when I don't have time to shop for chicken gumbo for Mardi Gras and declare a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper instead), but it sure was tempting to put my Anglican hat on just to bitch a couple of weeks ago when a bunch of Episcopalians decided to canonize Thurgood Marshall.

Personally, I am willing to attest to at least one miracle performed this very evening by Aw Chu Kin (http://www.tigerbalm.com/03_began.htm).

I've got this mental image now of everyone visiting a sacred relic/site being subjected to a full medical exam on the off chance that they're miraculously cured, so that doctors can prove that the laws of nature were circumvented.

Well, I am of course far too decent and innocent to understand a joke of that nature, anyhow.

(Ann Seton) got in with just three miracles. Three lousy miracles. And I understand that _two_ of them were card tricks. - Father Guido Sarducci

Continuo a preguntarme...

I don't have time to explain the nitty-gritty details of Vatican bureaucracy, missy! OK, i'll explain the bees. You know the big hat the Pope wears? It's a beehive. The bees are acting as God's translators. The reason they have to translate is because God speaks Latin and the Vatican people don't speak Latin anymore since Vatican II: Electric Boogaloo.

Before Vatican II, the Pope kept eels in his hat. They didn't talk to him, they just kept his head cool.

I always figured Paul VI's smartly streamlined metal tiara (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_Tiara#The_last_crowned_Pope) allowed him to punch through walls more effectively (http://www.toonopedia.com/buletman.htm).
