Remember how cyber- was the prime affliction in the late `90s among heinous neologisms?  Now it's -erati.  These fragmentary words MEAN NOTHING.  DO NOT USE THEM.  Leave such heinousness to President Bush, so he may announce a meeting with his cyberstrategerati.

EDIT: Results 1 - 50 of about 240 for cyberati.  Someone's gonna pay.

Hoo, boy, that one's been around since, what, the Reagan years? Yeah, it's time to retire it. You'd think the Watergate scandal was about water!

On an unrelated note, I object to the pronunciation of neology. What makes it so special that it has to be different from biology and geology? Just a snob is our high falutin' neology.

How about referring to Bush and his cronies as the "giterati", or possibly the "stupid-giterati"?

Yes, I know: bad badger, no earthworms.

I missed the whole -erati boat. I was there for cyber-, though.

I think now the trend is the number "2.0".

That one's been around for a while (Garbage's Version 2.0 came out in `98), but "Web 2.0" has definitely reached "I NEVER FUCKING WANT TO HEAR YOU SAY THIS AGAIN EVER EVER" levels.

What set me off with -erati is "technorati", "digerati", and what i read today: "blogerati".

It may just be the review article I was reading yesterday, but I would swear that it's now bio-. You just know that Bush is getting ready to get down with his biostrategerati, and then claim later that the meeting never happened.
