mrbill_rss writes that "despite what AppleMatters and Ars Technica tell you, it is possible to completely dissasemble the Apple Mighty Mouse without breaking the retaining ring," and explains how he did it.

This "mrbill_rss" person has committed a mortal sin.
I cry for him.

Date: 2005-11-26 09:34 pm (UTC)While I do like the idea of the trackball bit, it does need to be made such that it can be the pointing device, as mice are whole-hand-movevent devices, and not suitable for those of us who direct things by fingertip control. (i.e. I can't use a mouse, I need a trackball or a pointy-stick.)
Also, the side buttons - the hinge things - can have an action mapped to them; and by default it's 'expose' (hmm, not using the mac to write this, and I apparently don't have the alt-gr mapped properly, can't do accents or umlauts) view-desktop. Which, since that's where I put my fingers to move the mouse, becomes ultra-annoying, and utterly useless. So while I do like the idea behind it, can't use the sucker. But hey, it's a better mouse than the standard rat thing.
