Steve Mirsky at Scientific American reaches back to give Intelligent Design yet another wedgie.

On September 26, I sat in a federal courtroom in Harrisburg, Pa., where a lawyer said for almost certainly the first time ever, "Can we have the bacterial flagellum, please?"

Ha! That's hilarious.

On a more sober note, an evolutionary biologist just hired at my U. had been a little concerned about whether they'd have him, us being a Christian institution and all. Fortunately, intellectual rigor seems to be highly prized 'round these parts.

It worries me somewhat, as a concerned outsider, that people have this perception though.
