Date: 2005-11-22 05:54 pm (UTC)But you know this article points out an obvious trend in evangelical christens and that is, just as they do with the bible, they pick out bits and pieces of science to support and prove their cause. How do they expect people to believe them when their religion harvests such an inability to see the information that is in front of us all?
I've learned over the years that christens are screw-ups just like the rest of us. However, it is possible that they are worst of then the "non-believers" since Christianity breads such a horrible lack of reason and a sheer sense of ignorance.

Date: 2005-11-29 04:13 am (UTC)On a more sober note, an evolutionary biologist just hired at my U. had been a little concerned about whether they'd have him, us being a Christian institution and all. Fortunately, intellectual rigor seems to be highly prized 'round these parts.
It worries me somewhat, as a concerned outsider, that people have this perception though.
