Centavo lost yesterday to division leaders (and undefeated) The Crawdads, 12-6. Our defense was fairly spotty yesterday, although we played them tough for most of the first half and about half of the second half. I wanted three goals back: one where i got caught far from the goal (i managed to get one hand on it, but it wasn't enough; i bet i coulda punched it away, now that i think about it... grr), one where i didn't set up my wall correctly on a free kick, and one where i didn't close the angle on the breakaway attacker in a timely fashion. Also, our best shooter hurt his knee (it might be his ACL, which means we won't be seeing him for a while).
For a while, i was concerned that my reflexes were slowing, but i stopped a tough shot aimed high from point-blank range (a quemarropa), so i'm not worried about that anymore. However, i realized that my positioning is off whenever a defender is covering an attacker, and i'm doing it because i don't trust my defender to stop the shot (it's hard to remember to trust them when they've been leaving you alone half the game). So i gotta let them cover one side and i'll cover the other.
