We lost to Los Amigos 12-1 in a game that was a lot closer than the score would tell. We played a great first half for a change, and our play in the second half was a little sloppier as we got tired, but it was still quite good. We lacked a finishing touch (i guess that's obvious, given the score), but we also came close a lot, or else we shot right at the goalie (i don't think he had a difficult save all game).
On the defensive side, we held them off pretty well for a while, which led to me being lulled into a false sense of security, which made me lazy, which led to their first goal (i must put an end to first goals caused by mental softness, it's becoming a damn trend). Then they had 4 goals that were total flukes. I made a couple more mental mistakes (coming out too early, getting distracted), but i also made a lot of good saves.
My conditioning still isn't good enough; i need to be able to hop right back on my feet as soon as i go down. Right now, i just kneel and hope that my defense comes to rescue me. The best news is that we had pho a couple of hours before the game, and after the game i felt great, so i'll try to make it a habit.
