Awesome show. Tony C and the Truth opened; mix in three parts AC/DC, two parts Bruce Willis, and one part Smash Mouth, and you get Tony C and the Truth. They weren't anything special, but at least they didn't stink up the joint (except for the drummer, who was substandard). On came Living Colour, looking great. Doug Wimbish wore a Carmelo Anthony jersey, played 6 different basses (including an upright fretless), and was, in general, a bass-playing god. Corey Glover can still hit the high notes with all the strength. Vernon Reid... nothing's changed -- he's still awesome. And Will Calhoun has, i think, gotten even better. Set list (the order might be a bit off, but all the songs are there):
- Song Without Sin
- Funny Vibe
- A Question Of When
- In Your Name
- Ignorance Is Bliss
- Operation: Mind Control
- Flying
- Middle Man
- Pocket Of Tears
- Sacred Ground
- Love Rears Its Ugly Head
- Nothingness
- Time's Up
- Type
- Cult Of Personality
Encore - Solace Of You
I felt a bit cheated; they had "Tomorrow Never Knows" on the setlist as the first encore, but they skipped it. I needed just one more song out of them... still, it was a great show. You should really pick up Collideøscope. In the aftermath, we seem to have gained an arian1, but i thought we already had enough turkeys...
