A recent episode of The Simpsons mocked Fox News; Rupert Murdoch sprang into action and tried to sue himself. You couldn't pay for this quality of entertainment.

Having read this in a few places, including The Guardian, I'm not so sure about this story. For one, it appears that Murdoch was the sanity check on it, if it's true, rather than the instigator. Of course, you're highly unlikely to be suggesting that ol' Rupert instigated the alleged suit anyway. The larger point, though, seems to be that Fox News is denying the whole thing. And we all know that Fox News is a truthful, accurate and honest source, right?

Groening eventually qualified that it would've been a case of FOXNews suing the Fox Network, which are two separate organizations, even if they are sibs. This is well expressed in the Guardian article, and barely mentioned in the Agence France-Presse article. Perhaps AFP is still smarting over the "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" remark.
