Did A-Ha break up? I thought you just couldn't get their more recent albums in the US... Somebody from a mailing list I'm on sent me one song from a recent live album...
Really?!?!? Shows how much I know. I just assumed that since I hadn't heard anything about them in the last twelve years or so that they had gone off into that great 80's in the sky. I will investigate and self-educate.
All around me are familiar faces Worn out places, worn out faces Bright and early for their daily races Going nowhere, going nowhere And their tears are filling up their glasses No expression, no expression Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow No tommorow, no tommorow
And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had I find it hard to tell you 'Cos I find it hard to take When people run in circles It's a very, very Mad World
Children waiting for the day they feel good Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday Made to feel the way that every child should Sit and listen, sit and listen Went to school and I was very nervous No one knew me, no one knew me Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson Look right through me, look right through me
I got there really late, though, and missed the opening act, Jellyfish. It was absolutely the oddest experience, going to the Chance and being surrounded by young, polite nonsmokers. It wasn't Vassar students--this was before they actually began to venture beyond the fence. It's like there was this whole shadow community lurking in and around Poughkeepsie.

from "The Hurting"
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tommorow, no tommorow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me
I saw Roland a few years back at the Chance in Poughkeepsie
