Imagine that when you're born, you receive a gift.  However, the only way to open it is certainly lethal.  You carry this gift with you all of your life, and your brain is wired to wonder, at times to the point of obsession, what's inside.  Now imagine that there are many around you who assure you that certain actions, behaviors, or thoughts will increase or even maximize the odds that the gift will be something awesome when you finally open it, and they prey on your uncertainty to make their point.  But the fact remains that they have their own box, and they don't know what's in it, and nobody who's ever looked inside has survived.

You know what i say?  Stop worrying about your fucking gift and get on with your life.

That the religions that are all about today can tell all the ones that are about the afterlife to eat hot lead and go ahead and die already. Maybe the UUs don't quite exactly qualify, but they are all about the search, not the destination, and I just like the image of them going out rampaging on a holy war.
