RMH joined the group U.S. SUPREME COURT JUST SOLD THE USA TO THE FILTHY RICH, IT'S FASCISM .
rone Uh, i'm pretty sure that's not what "fascism" means.
RMH Well, I am a Democrat too and they dont always make sense either. Besides someone invited me and I didnt want to be unappreciative.
rone So you'll go along with what other people say even if you disagree, just so you don't hurt their feelings? You really are a Democrat.
RMH Thank you sir may I have another?!

The right way to do this sort of thing is to turn the other side's rhetoric on them: IT'S JUDICIAL ACTIVISM.

I'm waiting for the Democrats to threaten to use the "nuclear option" in the Senate once the first filibuster is threatened... oh, who am i kidding, like they have the balls to do such a thing.

They should have fucking let the Republicans do it last time. They got nothing good out of the deal.

I still don't get why they don't go back to requiring Senators to actually filibuster. I wanna see C-SPAN footage of Scott Brown reading out loud from The Joy of Cooking for twenty-seven hours so that poor people don't get to see doctors.

If he uses The Joy of Cooking there might be some useful content, which would make it an unusual speech.

Yes, this. The current auto-filibuster thing really lowers the barrier to what should be an extreme gesture saved for Big Deals, instead of just imposing a de facto supermajority requirement on any piece of business you feel like.

Plus news articles about continence loss in the chambers would be amusing.

BECAUSE THEY MIGHT GET SOMETHING DONE. The Democrats are just as happy to be immobilized by the mere threat of a filibuster as the Republicans are to immobilize them by threatening. It gives the whole lot of them a plausible excuse for doing nothing, which is fine with me if this clusterfuck of a healthcare bill is the best they can come up with.

It's certainly the best that a cowardly, superstitious lot could come up with, and Obama's no Batman.

If Obama had run for mayor of Chicago, and Richie Daley for president, health care reform would be done now, with a strong public option, and Chicago would be ass-deep in snow.

..."sold" implies that the Supremes got something in exchange for it they really gave it away;
it wasn't the USA that they gave away, it was elected offices;
it's not fascist at all, it's actually rather capitalist to let the richest corporations buy politicians;

meh

I have a migraine, please forgive my rambling. I am annoyed by the Supremes but I knew we were in for CRAP like this when the shrub got to appoint justices. I don't know why everyone gets into such a lather about abortion and gun rights when things like the rights of corporations to buy elected officials is so much more important. Meh. I'm going to piss everyone off with that opinion too. Maybe it's really time for me to stop typing.

would this be a bad time....

To remind americans that some of us were talking about the problem of getting an unstable tilt in the supremes for a couple of decades now? Ever since the Reaganites wanked about being the true republicans?

Also folks, if you go back to your constitution, there is really nothing in the publication that mandates that federal courts actually be the puppet toadies of the welfare statists, and that we could probably get better by outsourcing them. So that we could have the best justice that money could buy, rather than constantly creating these welfare queens in freaky black dresses!

Now more than ever it is time to privatize the system so that we are no longer victimized by the radical statists and their obamanite HORROR that would mandate that corporate citizens were liable to mere civilian law!!!

Let the Free Market Decide how much justice people need! Let them turn to the wonders of a Justice Insurance Programme to show them the bright new day in america!!!
