That bit along the side, above the sole, is very similar to some of the markings I've had after tearing ankle ligaments (basically, it seemed to arise from blood pooling down there). I didn't have anything like that swelling along the foot, though (it was all around the ankle, with supplementary inflammation around the achilles). Those toes are impressive: did you land on them first?

Well, I hope it heals better than my one, and that you aren't out of action for too long. Not to put too fine a point on things, my right ankle is permanently fucked. There are, however, some pretty good ankle supports on the market these days.
