I love the Visa Debit commercial with the guy tossing the pizza dough.  But what's his story?  Turns out the dude is on the United States Pizza Team (and the commercial is behind the link, in case you haven't seen it, plus there's more of him on YouTube).  They'll make a team out of anything these days, it seems... but watching him work is pretty damn cool.

I watched a pizza pie tossing competition once (thank you, Food Network, for broadening my horizons) and wondered the same thing. That's got to be the nastiest hard, chewy pizza ever after that much stretching.

I vaguely recall somebody saying they use different doughs for competitive tossing than for the pizzas they cook and serve, but can't vouch for that.

I have to say that my first reaction was colored by those old Fruit-of-the-Loom underwear commercial with anthropomorphized fruit. A giant garlic bulb, boxing; a tomato, skiing downhill over moguls; jalepeno peppers, on the high dive platform; and pepperoni racing in the indoor bike tracks all flashed through my head.

Hmm. I probably should go on some sort of medicine.

He is indeed a joy to watch, and part of what sells it is his "coworker" in the background shaking his head in disbelief.

Kewl! I had no idea what the ad was for. The music comes on, and I end up walking into the kitchen singing "Hey Mambo! Mambo Italiano!" and never see the end of the spot. :)
