I had some once. They are more aromatically grape than taste of grape. They smell like grape candy, which I like. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of grape on the taste buds. Overall I liked them but they weren't worth the price.

My Dad and I try this kind of thing out professionally. We did not like them when they came out, and figured that they were a silly fad; but Dad has begun grudgingly acknowledging them to his class, and indicates that more kids seem to like them every year.

Of course, most apples that people eat are garbage anyway. On some absolute scale, they aren't any worse than, say, your average Washington Red Delicious.

Apparently somebody noticed that a certain grape scent/flavor was very effective, and then the guys what make Grapples thought, they, what if we just soak the whole freakin' apple in it.

They're a bit tetchy about the use of the term pesticide in relation to the process.
