<venividi> one of my step daughter's friends has registered to vote because "Obama is a muslim"
<venividi> turns out he wants to  vote *for* obama
<venividi> because he doesn't want the zionists to win.

It's possible that his problem is with zionists who want to bring about the acopalypse, but I admit it's not too likely.

What kind of right wing loon isn't a die hard supporter of Zionism? I'm so confused.

Deadline to register to vote looms.

Deadline to punch people in head is wide open.

Funny, I've used this paragraph three times in the last 24 hours:

One of the great bits of cognitive dissonance I myself hold is the idea that we should all try to get along and see things from other peoples' point of view, and the fact that whenever someone says something really amazingly stupid (like "Democrats and poor people caused the financial collapse", for a current example) I have the nigh-overwhelming urge to punch them in the dick.

Well, that experience would certainly help them see your point of view. I'd say go for it.

Operant conditioning as a social experiment. You could even get money for it, if you write the proposal properly.

But... that's... I mean... okay what the hell? This is funnier than [livejournal.com profile] shaenon's story about the guy who wouldn't vote for Obama, because Obama admitted to being black (http://shaenon.livejournal.com/73831.html).

I just don't know what to think about people anymore.

my office mate is absolutely convinced that obama is secretly a muslim and out to destroy america.

she says she is still planning on voting for him because she figures he's still gotta be better than mccain or bush.

this fills me with enormous hope.

He doesn't like Mormons?

He must have LOVED that "I don't like Mormons" song from the '80s.

There is a level of stupid that is just plainly stupid. You see it, it's dumb, you move through it.

Then there's kind of stupid that is so amazingly complicated in its stupidity that the gears of your brain jam trying to clear it.

And then there's this. I don't even have a metaphor for this.
