Today's peeve is people who, probably as an extension of fancy plurals such as "indices" from "index", pronounce "processes" as "process-seas."

When I was taking Linear Algebra For Little Kiddies back in university, I was driven nuts by lusers who backformed "matrices" to "matriceeeeee".

My linear algebra professor was Austrian. We spent an entire semester learning about mattresses.

The worst, though, was the professor who distinguished between binary functions and urinary functions.
