Via Steve's WebLog:

In more important news, I'm fighting to get Xemacs working like my old emacs, so I can continue on the next Vlad novel.
It's great to hear he's working on the next Vlad novel, and how can anyone not like an author who writes his novels with emacs?

Saw this via klavahole. Great news! I need another Vlad fix.

I found that the best way to make XEmacs behave like Emacs was to not run it, and run Emacs instead. I hate Emacs on a regular basis, but I hate XEmacs more.

That's what someone on the Dragaera list said. Well, except for the hating emacs bit. You scoundrel.

I hasten to add that my hatred for emacs is much the same as, say, my hatred for C or my hatred for arbitrary bits of Unix; it doesn't in the least bit hamper my use of same. In fact, my most frequent problems with software revolve around the fact that they either don't have an emacs-compatible interface or they make a poor attempt at it, lulling me into briefly feeling comfortable with them and then WHAMMO it's restore-from-tape time.
