Wow, it's 01:00 and i'm being micromanaged by the boss's boss.  I'd forgotten what micromanagement felt like.  IT FEELS LIKE DIGGING THROUGH MY OWN SHIT TO SEE IF I CAN RECOGNIZE WHAT I ATE.  I'M NOT EVEN ON CALL, GOD DAMN YOU.

Wow, your phone is on?

Okay, this makes me Not A Team Player, but my phone goes very carefully ignored while I'm not on call. Also, I only get paid for 40 hours a week (and my contract says so in writing!) so when quitting time rolls around, off I go.

On the other hand, I have my boss sufficiently intimidated that he no longer tries to call me during off hours unless something really big exploded. And my grandboss doesn't speak English anyway, and I've also carefully cultivated a (quite false, thanks) reputation for knowing no Japanese.
