[...]
He describes "Speed Racer," a Wachowski brothers ("The Matrix") film based on the 1960s cartoon as "a really crazy, Andy Warhol-meets-'Blade Runner' kind of big colors, pop-art, really crazy special effects, very goofy movie."

It's just "The Wachowskis" now. One of them completed gender-reassignment transition.

Nope, I don't. It's listed in Wikipedia as a rumor.

Wired says this:

Is it a sure thing? The last time i looked at that, it was all sketchy and rumors and a bad picture.

Andy Warhol-meets-'Blade Runner'

That's all I needed to hear. Two-word pre-cognitive review: Shit Racer.

I haven't been able to sit through a whole episode of 'Speed Racer' since I was nine. If they make a glitzed-up live-action version, as far as I'm concerned they'll be doing it a favor it doesn't deserve.

Do you mean to say that Speed Racer is an inviolable epic which the Wachowski brood are not fit to bring themselves to the level of understanding, much less interpreting, its genius?

Cause, dude, monkeys.

From what i've read, they did a decent job with V for Vendetta. But there's not a lot to Speed Racer, which means that there's going to be some awful Hollywood plot shoehorned into the familiar milieu, much like the awful Transformers (yes, yes, "just turn your brain off and enjoy the special effects", whatever).
