Charing Cross only has 6 platforms, sez Wikipedia. I'm under the impression that they're numbered from 1 to 6. King's Cross has half a luggage trolley mounted to the wall which produces quite a few dorky pictures.

Platform 9 3/4 is (canonically) at King's Cross. I believe the filming was done at St Pancras (not very far away, now extensively rebuilt to terminate the Channel Tunnel Rail Link). There is indeed a 9 3/4 sign on King's Cross, but (again from memory, it's been a while since I last paid attention heading for the Cambridge train) there is no pillar-on-platform between platforms 9 and 10, them being in different buildings (the sign is mounted on the wall as you pass from one building to the next).

I could've sworn it was 11 and 12 that was Cambridge! I obviously don't travel from King's Cross frequently enough, anymore!
