Assuming they needed a sysadmin, we'd have to start salary negotiations at US$150k just to get past the embarrassment of working for a company called Wowkast.  Holy shit what a wretched turd of a name that is.  And, sweet fucking jesus, "a new multimedia-empowered way to communicate"?  It's official: the Bubble is back.  We're fucking doomed.

'MacroMedia' is early-90s buzzword salad, and was roundly mocked back in the day. It was slightly better than their previous name, 'MacroMind', but mostly because it mitigated the new age trappings.

Financial success validates sucky names. Say it often enough and it sounds less silly. Witness DreamWeaver, Flash (originally FutureSplash Animator), Google, Yahoo!, Apple, Microsoft or Hummer.

I'm not so sure about financial success, exactly, as much as just hanging around long enough that the word becomes acceptable (much like semantic drift), which, sure, depends on some financial success.

Yahoo! still looks stupid, though.
