Secretary of State Warren Christopher yesterday described Yasser Arafat, chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization, as "the flag and the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’" of the Palestinian movement.

I ran into a Usenet article of mine where i greatly derided Christopher for that particular mal mot.
