A homeless man was charged yesterday with stealing an ambulance that had just taken him to Mary Washington Hospital and crashing it minutes later.

Coincidentally, I was telling wisn just last night about an item on the evening news: a guy being sent to prison. His most recent crime spree which resulted in his arrest and so forth went something like this:

• stole 4x4 with two accomplices (may have been escaping some other crime at the time, may just have been joyriding)
• stopped to get gas, robbed gas station, beat up random customer using (a) the till and (b) a pipe wrench
• pursued by a police car, turned on the police car and rammed it twice before continuing on
• abandoned 4x4, hijacked another car, beating up the pensioner driving it in the process
• eventually crashed this car, breaking his leg and killing one of his accomplices
• and here's the fun part: the second accomplice got away by stealing a car belonging to a nurse who stopped to render assistance

Second accomplice is apparently still at large.
