If you read my previous plea, and wanted to donate but didn't get to it, please let this serve as a reminder to visit my wife's fundraising page and donate.  Right now, at least US$5 will get you a bar of homemade soap as a thank-you.  Thanks!

Please apologize to Kim for our meager donation. I'm feeling poor from car issues right now, but I do want to help.

Thank you for donating. Even small donations help. If everyone I knew had given me a small donation, I'd have reached my goal by now. Every little bit helps!

I couldn't figure it out from the page, but is there a way to donate via PayPal?

Missed your first note, but gave a little bit this time... this past month has been full of people needing help, so I'm kinda running low on the funds I can direct towards such things, sorry. Wish her good luck with the marathon for me, please. :)

I just donated what I can right now, and since there wasn't a place to indicate as much, I hope it's okay if I mention here that my donation is in memory of my friend and coworker Jenn Walton (http://www.savejenn.org), who passed away last week from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (diffuse large B-cell tumor). She had been diagnosed just over two years ago, and had some bone marrow transplants ahead of here, but except when she was in the hospital for treatment, she kept coming to work and hanging out after, right up through last Thursday. Sometime in the night her condition took a dive, and she died Friday afternoon.

Thanks to you all for supporting this organization.

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. I'll ask the manager of our team if there is some way for them to make a place on the fund raising sites for dedications. Or maybe that's something I could have customized my own site with. Thank you very much for your generous donation. It is greatly appreciated.

I talked to my team manager, and she said that I should email the Team in Training administration requesting that some sort of simple guestbook option be added to the fund raising websites so that people can make dedications. I will do that, because I think it is a great idea.

Also, she suggested that I could put Jenn's name on my t-shirt when I walk in Nike next weekend, as a dedication to her. I'd be very honored to do this for your friend, if you think it would be ok with her family. Let me know.

I doanna need no soap, but [livejournal.com profile] 2wanda's TiT account should be seeing some more money.

This is a great project. About my first discovery of death came via a friend in grade three or four who died of leukemia. He beat me in chess matches with ease, was funny, and would have grown up to be brilliant. At his memorial service, they sung "Silent Night". I still can't hear it without thinking of him.
