The first dozen or so issues were amusing, I thought. Skull was fun.

Wow, when I stopped reading pvp, it was because it kept trying to be funny and failing.

It's nice to see that it's totally given up trying, I guess. I tried to read from the beginning of this year to see if he had managed a single funny strip, but I only made it through the piss-awful May 16 strip before I gave up.

Oh, i think that's perfectly acceptable as mockery of Linux nerds and those retarded Mac ads.

Ah, I must be missing the cultural reference, then. The only Mac ads I've seen lately have been billboards. The strip just doesn't make sense to me. I can't even put my finger on what the gag is supposed to be. "Windows and MacOS users used to pretend to hate each other, and they still act like they hate each other even though (hand-waving) - but drawing a picture of a dude with pimples and putting the word 'Linux' over his head will always be good for a laugh"?

Well, it's a parody of the current TV ad campaign that can probably be viewed with quicktime (natch) at apple.com/getamac . In short, the typical apple user is played by a recognizable actor who plays slightly nerdy but plucky underdog characters who succeed in the end and may get the girl, while the PC user is a strawman playing a clueless thinks-he's-clever guy who emulates outmoded ideas about computers and computer users, replete with a bad business suit and presumably he drives his father's oldsmobile. The strip's decent parody, IMO.

The unintentional punchline is that anybody who's not into boy eye candy would rather be trapped in an elevator with John Hodgman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hodgman) than wots-'is-face.

Well, i could link you to the Mac ads on Apple's site, but you'd hate me forever. I think your "dude with pimples" theory sounds right, though.

To see a really amazing level of unfunniness you can't do better than read The Joy of Tech (http://www.geekculture.com/joyoftech/).

Are you asking because the current storyline is a disappointing turn of events after last month's delightly "Shecky the Irish Stereotype Troll" storyline, or because this is just the final nail in the coffin after Shecky? I think this is decently funny compared to recent storylines-- some of the funnier since the first appearance of Scratch. On the other hand, I'm not finding anything funny from my usual online comic sources-- not even PA. Hmm.

It's the "final nail" bit. I gave the Schecky bit an honest chance, basically because he begged for one (and made a big deal about how the storyline had been in his head for so long). After something so brutally long and unfunny, if what follows doesn't seem like a significant improvement, then it's time to give up.

I think SF jumped the shark around the time Clinton started pardoning a bunch of people.

Reintegrating The Kultur

I think you have come to one more reason why we MUST reintegrate the Kultur and a part of the overall KulturKampf, so that we can have a fully unified american ethnic experience that will allow all americans to know if they are doing their part to make America American Again, or have they opted to be on the WRONG SIDE.

Yes, we clearly need to open the Department Of Kultur Kampf in the Department of Homeland Security, so that americans will not wind up wandering around the net in a daze worrying which comic strips are Evil And UnAmerican!!!

Clearly you should do your part by organizing the official All American Comics section, as a prelude to offloading that, as an almost IPO to the Department Of Kultur Kampf in the Department of Homeland Security as the next Hot Internet Buzz Investment Opportunity!!!

Wait... You're reading some sort of "gamer" "comic"... And expecting funny?

I... I don't get it.

It only works if you've played through Half Life 2, but Concerned (http://www.hlcomic.com/), the story of Gordon Frohman, is generally good for belly laugh.

It's posed and captured in-game using Garry's Mod, which turns the entire game into a physics sandbox.

I tried reading one page. It was panel after panel of the same joke repeated over and over: WE'RE IN A GAME! AND GAMES AREN'T ACTUALLY ALL THAT REALISTIC! ISN'T THAT FUNNY?

Can I have my fourth wall back, please? There's a really bad draft in here.
