Brazil 3 - Ghana 0: Ghana missed Essien (out due to yellow card accumulation), but i'm not sure that it would have made a difference.  They played the offside trap all game, even though its failure led to the first goal in the 5th minute.  Brazil played most of the game in second gear.  Had Ghana actually finished one of their chances, i suspect Brazil would have stuck it to them, like they did to Japan.  A Ghanaian got a yellow card for diving —and as it was his second, he was sent off— but he didn't dive.  He just fell down.  The third goal looked to be a result of a half-step offside Zé Roberto, who then chipped the ball away from a rushing Kingson with a high kick.  No call either way, not that it really mattered in the end.

France 3 - Spain 1: Didn't get to see it.  It looked like a somewhat chippy game, although there were very few yellow cards.  Zidane seemed to have jumped into the wayback machine for this game; he better hope he can keep it going against Brazil.  Spain gets another notch on their choker reputation, however undeserved it might be.

Two whole days without soccer.  I feel faint.

Yeah, I think Ghana played a much better game than the score indicated. Yet, like you, I'm sure Brazil would have stepped it up had they needed to.
