What's going on this week? In addition to my computer & modem mayhem, I'm hearing reports of rampant technology failure, from other computers to iPods to cellphones. You name it. Is it a conspiracy, Mr. Rone? Did I miss the memo?

Mercury retro is supposed to be fully straightened out by today, not the other way around. Right?

I was wondering how "RONE" was pronounced.

Too bad there's still a human,
So it's still senryu.

My rage exists as a separate entity, wholly removed from me. It's registered to vote, too.

BUMMMERRRRR! I feel your pain! I used to have a unix server. Once. Heh.

Hm...And I just sent you an email, too....you know, just to prove that I still remember a couple unix commands and vi and stuff. Oh, and to beg for software. I hope you get your server back up and running soon!

Hey Ron!

Seagate bought Maxtor today.

How does THAT make you feel?

Oddly enough, the drive that's going bad is a Seagate, and the one i intended to replace it with is a Maxtor. But i'm going to abandon the Maxtor for the time being and replace the Seagate with an IBM, whilst shuffling files about.

This has turned into a huge mess.

I'll say.

The rule used to be "Never buy a drive from a company whose name starts with M."

Then Fujitsu started building hard drives, and we amended the rule to say "In Japanese, Fujitsu starts with M."

Then Quantum got bought by Maxtor, and Maxtor got bought by Seagate, so WTF.

Who am I supposed to buy drives from?

No, no, Seagate is buying Maxtor. Seagates are still good.

Anyway, it seems the Seagate wasn't bad. I shall update my journal now that the server doesn't seem inclined to blow up under heavy disk use.

I always think of the extravagantly goofy Spanish game show El Gran Juego de la Oca. There was this one episode in which people had to crawl around in a giant ant farm, being pursued by this guy in a sort of silver wrestler/Terminator getup. They called him "Maxtor" and before crawling into the giant ant farm he paraded around the studio shaking his fist in the air while the audience yelled "MAXTOR!!!! MAXTOR!!!! MAXTOR!!!!"

Well, now I'm glad it worked out with me not coming down today. See you guys tomorrow after I've had sufficient sleep - got into SF at 10 last night, finally went to sleep at 2 AM, been running around all day doing errands, and my mother gets in at 8:19 PM.

Maybe you should list the things that don't equal an ANGRY RONE. It might be shorter.

Whiskers on kittens
Packages tied up with string --
equals ANGRY RONE
