hello from sunny cambria
Jun. 18th, 2005 10:30 amKim and i have just struck camp and are making time until the wineries open at 11. We ended up camping next to a bunch of high school freshmen on Thursday night, and next to a gaggle of white trash families on Friday night, the type of people that drank and smoked and cursed heavily around their kids. We're so glad we're leaving.
Yesterday we visited six wineries and left with 10 bottles of wine. We really are trying hard to restrain ourselves. Honest! Anyway, it's been a good trip, moneywise, because we spent less than $60 for two nights of camping, and we've been making our own meals instead of eating out. I have, however, purchased the three most expensive bottles of non-dessert wine in my life on this trip (Linne Calodo `03 Problem Child [they really jacked up the price from 2 years ago], Justin `03 Justification and `02 Isosceles). Anyhow... looks like it's time to mosey on down to York Mountain and pick up a bottle of their port. I'll burble some more upon my return.
