I exported my library from the old laptop so i could import it on the new one, but it barfs on any entry that has a two-byte Unicode character. Needless to say, i am underwhelmed.
UPDATE: Exporting as a "song list" creates a plain text file (whereas exporting as a "library" creates an XML file) which is perfectly legible to iTunes. DUH DUH.
