Date: 2005-02-15 07:58 pm (UTC)it's a peer pressure trick, just like the pledge of allegiance. the students may not be "required" to participate, but all the other kids are going, and they're only little kids, and they want desperately to fit in. how many kindergarteners are sufficiently assertive and socially aware to stand up and say no?
evil. pure, unadulterated evil.
