big rack little rack

I got the big rack from [livejournal.com profile] palecur and [livejournal.com profile] amywithani, and the little one from my mother-in-law.  The bottle with the green sticker on the neck (and the one below it) is some of our homemade rosé.  The one below them is, yes, a Beringer white zin (Renée got it as a gift, i swear, it's not my fault).

Georgian (http://www.selectwinesllc.com/repofgeor.html) in there? I'm disappointed to see that Select Wines no longer has the Tamada Saperavi--but! don't be fooled by "semi-sweet"; Khvanchkara is one of the tastiest things you'll ever wrap your tongue around.

Nope; mostly California wines there, with representatives from Oregon, Hungary, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Australia, Argentina and Chile.

I'll keep an eye out for it, and i'm not put off by 'semi-sweet'.

Keep that eye online

There still aren't many importers, so you won't stumble on it easily in stores. Select (above) was the only importer for a while; I just found a different selection at Internet Wines & Spirits (http://search.store.yahoo.com/cgi-bin/nsearch?catalog=randalls&query=georgian)--no idea how Georgian Royal Collection compares with Tamada in quality, but I think I may have to order myself at least one of those ceramic crocks of Khvanchkara, even if it is all scratched up with Russian writing.

I'm deeply jealous.

I've had a few Beringer whites and I'm not impressed, but not disgusted like I thought I would be. Beringer's reds are better. My fave is the 1998 Clear Lake Zinfandel. Their cabernet sauvignon is my favorite $10 bottle of cheapfuck fighting wine. Goes great with spicy fighting foods.
