week-early valentine's day

roneSince i'll be nerding it up at Dundracon next weekend, Kim decided to celebrate Valentine's Day early, and started by upgrading my LJ account to paid status. Whee!... what now?
Next, we had then planned to see The Triplets of Belleville but we got stuck working in the yard in the afternoon and the last local showing was at 17:00 (lame), so we went to dinner instead. We went to Transilvania, a Romanian restaurant in Los Gatos. Entrées were in the $12-20 range, but the food wasn't quite that good... i dunno. We had been thinking Indian but the Indian place was packed so we tried something new, so maybe my brain was expecting food that had a bit more seasoning. However, the meal was more noteworthy because of three things: a couple of mille-feuilles-type pastries served as amuse-bouche (very, very good... the main ingredient was butter, sure, but oh so good), the wine, and the horrible couple next to us.
