Take a jug of crap-ass vodka, run it through a Brita filter thrice, and pour it back into an empty bottle of high-quality vodka.

And here I was thinking the "proper" method was to simply take a filter paper, in a funnel, and add in some activated charcoal (NB, needs decent filter paper, an ordinary Melitta filter is not fine enouigh to stop charcoal from going through) and simply fiter the crap-arse vodka through that.

That's the quick-and-dirty method, yeah. The experimenters were inspired exactly by taking activated charcoal tablets in order to cut down on hangovers.

Oh. Ah. Yes, the "sane" method would (obviously) be to re-distill the vodka. Duh. Why didn't I think of that?
