Take a jug of crap-ass vodka, run it through a Brita filter thrice, and pour it back into an empty bottle of high-quality vodka.

Thanks for the link; I just found my bottle of crap-ass vodka, so this couldn't be more timely.

I'm considering whether this method might also work on the bottle of crap-ass gin (it would probably cut the flavor of juniper, but I'm not likely to care).
