Needless to say, the speaker and the addressee were both of Mexican descent.

Once I was in the Haight district of San Francisco walking behind two hippie denizens of the area, both of whom were smoking. One said, in a one-upping kinda way, "Ya know, any day now I'll have enough Marlboro Bucks to buy me a [insert name of crappy promotional item that sounds cool to a Haight hippie in the mid '90s]."

His friend replied in a disgusted tone, "MILES. Not Bucks, MILES."
