merde prepared beer can chicken for me and Kim yesterday. We brought Pilsner Urquell and Bass to go with it. It was topped off with key lime pie and a `97 Preston Muscat Brûlé (not too sweet, with a bit of a tart finish).
Today was Thai Pepper's anniversary meal for friends... free Thai food? Sign me up. A pity that the food was all utterly mild (to accomodate everyone, i guess). There were traditional Thai dancers with Thai music (2 marimbas and drums). If you're in the area, have a coupon.

you know, when i removed the beer can from the chicken and looked at the resulting gaping hole, i had to bite my tongue hard not to say, "oh look! GOATSE!" but i didn't want to ruin your appetites.
