dumb, dumb, and dumb
Jun. 29th, 2004 12:01 amThere's three kinds of dumb: the mild sort of dumb that you shake your head at and ignore (e.g., saggy pants); the sheer, mind-numbing sort of dumb that your instinctively and actively reject as abhorrent (e.g., our Commander in Chief); and then there's a small section of dumb that's stunning and, as your defenses are lowered, it seduces you (e.g., riding a motorcycle).
Today i found a fine representative of that third kind of dumb: Gatorade has joined forces with ESPN, which is actively plugging its 25th anniversary, to rebrand their Berry flavor as ESPN The Flavor. So i bought a bottle to take to tonight's soccer game. Yes, i'm a sucker for a pandering marketing campaign.
