The League of Crafty Guitarists will be performing in Redwood City at the Little Fox on April 11 and in Ben Lomond at Henfling's (VORSICHT: heinous Flash) on April 12. Their news page lists other shows along the West Coast. Bob Fripp won't be playing, but Curt Golden will.

I was wondering if it was going to be at Henfling's. That's a cool little venue for music, that draws an interesting mountain crowd. Stacy and Jimmy have both played at Henfling's.

with both Bob and Trey, at The Chance (http://www.thechancetheater.com). It was actually a little disappointing, though (but only a little!). It was like one big Glenn Branca guitar lesson, but not as loud. I thought the actual ear-destroying Glenn Branca guitar lesson at the Lawndale Art (http://www.lawndaleartcenter.org) Annex (http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/view/LL/kllnk.html) (a big, resonant, metal hangar in the industrial wasteland off Old Spanish Trail) was more fun.

Got my ticket for Little Fox. Wendy passed. Don't blame her one bit. An old friend from high school once described LoCG as Fripp's mind control experiment. Another friend says that LoCG makes him grit his teeth uncontrollably. Yet another says that the stools they sit on actually have 12" broom handles sticking out of the tops of the seats to keep them from falling off (helps posture too). Personally, I really like the stuff (the music not the broom handles).

Kim likes the stuff in general, but some of the tunes do set her on edge, and i don't blame her. One of LCGs is a coworker (and he'll be my companion when we go see the Pixies at UC Davis).

Kim and i will be going to Henfling's... too bad we won't see ya there.
